Description

Perception is the ascertainment (knowing) of the respective objects by the senses. Inference is declared to be of three kinds, and it is preceded by a knowledge of the mark (liṅga or indicator) and of that for which it is the mark (liṅgi). Valid testimony is the statements of trustworthy people and the Vedas.
