In the darśana (11/5/77), Baba Hari Dass explained that when the mind is stopped, kuṇḍalinī awakens. Brief concentration can complete a cycle leading to knowledge, but it may be too brief to notice. Performing saṃyama on something related to what you seek knowledge of can lead to partial understanding.
